The brief was to create a character.
My starting point was deconstructing what makes a 'character' I individually illustrated the features, nose, eyes, mouth etc. giving myself 60 seconds per feature to really challenge myself to just DRAW.
This meant I had pages of eyes and noses, all unique and different, ready to be combined into a single character.

In creating these layouts, I found that my character didn't exist as a simple 'face' but as a collage, a compilation of all sorts of features, expressions and feelings. This inspired me to create a stop motion animation, all the features swarming over objects, objects acting as a canvas for the illustration, but also as a body for my character
I found my favourite section in the flat design, that became the base for my layouts.

My Animations
I would love to do an exercise like this again, perhaps adding in a story element to the overall amiations
